gone fishing... as in another summer update...
If I could, I would just reprint my column on my first experience of fishing... and as they don't archive things on the website, I can't direct you there...
But I can still describe my first fishing experience, and the fact that I did catch my first fish... a trout or a cut-throat... It was too small to be a keeper, so we ended up throwing it back, but it was exhilerating all the same...
When we moved up here I wanted to try out new things, but to keep a limit on it... one or two new activities a season. In the summer it was fishing and golfing. Fishing was more successful and I now have my own rod. We won't discuss golfing at this point.
The great thing about this area is that there are so many lakes close by. We drive 10 minutes out of town and there's a little lake, perfect for fishing. No bears, thankfully, that time, but an eagle was our companion and our competition.
I fell in love with fishing. I'm hoping to ice fish this year for a good topic for my column...
I do not, yet, dig for worms, put a fresh worm on my own hook (I HATE the wriggling death throes...), and I do not "bonk" the fish... (other than the fact that I haven't had much opportunity to do it yet...)

It's nice to hear your really enjoying the place you live. I think thats a very important part of life. We are soon to move to my dream location only on the opposite side of the country. We will be living on a lake. I hope I enjoy the new experiences as much as you:)
