Young at Heart
Have you ever noticed how particular kids are about their age? Maybe it's just that time has more meaning or goes slower for them. Or maybe they so desperately want to grow up that any amount of time that adds up to the bigger age is added on. If only they knew...
I was at the arena this afternoon taking pictures of kids skating. I asked this little girl how old she was.
"9 and 3/4" was the answer.
Who measures age like that? When you're young you want to speed it up. When you're old you want to subtract as much as you can from it.
I guess the saying is true... You're only as old as you feel.
I had a friend who felt old at 23.
Me - sometimes I am honestly surprised that I am 26. What? 26 almost 27? No, it can't be! I still feel 22 or 23. Where did the last 4 years go?
(I suddenly realise that I sound like one of these stupid, sentimental forwards that I always get and always immediately delete.)
