"It might as well be Spring..."

They say that tomorrow is supposed to be the first day of Spring, but I really don't believe it. There was frost on the windows this morning and really, it felt more like a crisp Fall day rather than a breezy Spring one.

But Spring is in the air in other ways as another bumper crop of babies is coming this year again. It seems like everyone who didn't have babies last year is having them this year, as well as some couples who are making it a double feature. I offer my congratulations to all.

However, for the record, I am not contributing to the harvest this year, although I have been asked already SEVERAL times if I have any news. If I am walking around like a zombie, I'm tired because Anneka is determined to try out her new crawling abilities EVERY CHANCE THAT SHE GETS even if it is in the middle of night, several times a night... If I can't keep my eyes open during the sermon or have a vacant expression on my face while people around me are chatting, it is because I haven't had a full night's sleep in about a month (it feels like), and that, combined with trying to finish another part of my course is WEARING ME OUT. Sometimes I feel like wearing a sign on my forehead: I'M NOT PREGNANT!

I know that people are well-meaning and just excited about babies, and don't get me wrong, I love babies too... However, the lifelong prospect of people asking me if I'm pregnant with every cold or flu or exhaustion is just annoying...

Not that, if it would happen, I would be disappointed... However, as it stands, I am very happy where I am... I never thought I would love being a mom, but I do... Anneka is a very good baby... I thoroughly enjoy my time with her and wish I could spend my days just lying on the ground beside her and watch her grow and discover and do this with her...

So, Spring Fever... definitely in the air in the Bulkley Valley... but I'm heading due south...

(PS. for those of you who don't know, the title line is a quote from the song from the movie State Fair.I highly recommend it
