More "Pride and Prejudice"

I have not watched the 6-hour version of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth. Shocking, I know, but it is on my to-do list. I feel as though I have watched the movie from reading Bridget Jones' Diary - because she and her friends are obsessed with Mr. Darcy. And who wouldn't be?
As for Tamara's comments - I think Tamara that you would have been Jane, and therefore need a more emotionally stable man like Mr. Bingley. I think they played their relationship so well in the movie. They are perfect for each other. And so are Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy - in their over-analysing, over-emotional, more melancholy type personalities.
I agree with you on the cinematography of the new movie - it is wonderful. And the views are sweeping - they sweep you right along with it. I think the "walking through the mist scene" was my favourite part as well as the rather prosaic-yet-romantic ending where they are sitting in front of the fountain. Sigh...

I have to disagree with you when you say Mr. Bingley is a more stable man - Darcy I think is far superior to Bingley in that respect. Afterall, it was Bingley who disengaged his pursuit of Jane because of what his friend (Darcy) thought. Darcy is the epitome of the stable, loyal, faithful man.
