killing time

So, here I sit in the Smithers newspaper office. And I have nothing to do. All my work for the Houston paper is done and we're leaving for the conference at 2:00 pm. So here I sit...

Oh my goodness... I am so busy with other stuff besides work! I could be at home packing for our imminent move. As in next week. We signed off all the subjects just yesterday and we get posssession next Thursday. So that means I have to pack next week in the evenings and that my days off next week are not going to be days off. I haven't had a truly restful day off in three weeks... Maybe this conference will help and the red wine will flow like the Bulkley River...

Another thing I have to do is get my Mary Kay business started. I mean, I love the stuff, but maybe the timing I chose wasn't so wise. I need to put in my first official order next week so that the stuff will be here when my parents come in a month. If you want to order something from me, let me know ASAP and I'll set you up.

Also next week, I have to get a whole week's worth of articles and news done in three days. Thankfully it's not my week for writing the column.

I don't know how to make links in my posts yet, but just type it in or copy and paste. I'm quite excited because I've had two columns already and two front-page stories. Not bad for a journalist who's been on the job a month.

Well, I'm off to the drugstore to get some gravol for the flight. We're travelling on a pretty small plane and I don't want to take any chances. Also, we have 2 stop-overs - Terrace, Prince George, and then finally we land in Kamloops. The flight is not what I'm worried about; it's all those takeoffs and landings. Hopefully there's no turbulence. I've heard those small planes don't handle that all that well...
