It's official: I have good taste (and I have proof)

I was never one for interior decorating... I've always wanted to learn it, but just never had the knack. Since I've had to spend so many hours doing nothing at home, I thought I would start my education and watch HGTV (home and garden television) incessantly. Well, it paid off.

My wonderful and talented MIL is making us curtains for our bedroom, as she is a good sewer, fabric is cheaper in the land of consumerism (i.e. Chicago, where the shopping is to die for), and I don't have a sewing machine, let alone know how to sew.

But how do you pick out fabric when I'm here and she's there? Well, I used the internet for what it's there for and sent her some samples of fabric patterns... paisley, scroll, floral, etc. that I would like. I also mailed her a pillow sham from our comforter set (because who really uses those anyway?)

And guess what, as she was shopping in one of my all-time favourite stores, Crate and Barrel (if you ever get a chance to go there, GO THERE!) And she saw the exact curtains in the exact pattern that I had picked out (and no, I did not get a picture from the website...I didn't even know they sold curtains)

Point of the story... is that my interior design taste must be getting better, if I'm choosing the same patterns and trends as one of the most fabulous stores in the world, my taste must be improving a little...

Now I just need to decide what colour paint to do the bathroom...
